Cdxtract akai s10009/19/2023 #CDXTRACT SFZ WINDOWS#īernard Chavonnet's CDxtract sample-conversion utility for Windows 95/98 and NT might be another option. A sampler would definitely give you the most flexibility in the long term. However, in the short term there will be a learning curve and time commitment. You would be porting in raw sampled sounds that would need to be keymapped and programmed on the sampler. It's the programming that makes samples usable and playable. Different samplers have different ways of handling program data, which would include parameters having to do with filters, effects (e.g., reverbs) pitch bend, envelopes, LFOs, etc. Whatever sampler you decide on, it could take some time and effort to make the converted soundfonts usable/playable. You may not wish to postpone your live performances. That being the case, perhaps a module that you trigger with the KX88 would make sense as a short term solution?. Maybe you can find one with sounds similar to the sound fonts you like.I don't even use samplers. If I need one, I'll dust off my fully loaded Emu ESI-32 Turbo. Oh yeah, The M3 can apparently sample too. Honestly, I am not too surprised about the Sonic Core samplers sounding better (I don't remember if I had ever tried them). You cannot have multi adat out for mixing the sample in a digital mixer. Use midi cc controler probably not easy and have to use (midi cc number). I think it will not be easy in the future to find sound for emu esi. If it as is own format for samples it will be more difficult to find free sample.įor sts sample there's 35 gb of free soundfont on internet. Old soundfont sound sometimes "crippy" but the new soundfont sound like real synth. Just have to convert the sondfont in sts to make work the sts well. Sts is not perfect (the filtrers and resonnance not work like other sampler).A3000 is the better for this.īut the only 96 khz hardware sampler is the akai z8 z4 but it doesn't support adat smux for 96 khz. Liquid EDGE wrote:"Wow, these samplers and its filters etc sound amazing" I use the sts,the only virtual hardware sampler working at 96 khz with adat s/mux in the world! So for using it you need a master clocks generate different master clock (48 khz.96 khz). I have AKAI S1000, 2 S1100, EMU E64, 2 Oberheim DPX-1,- and NI Kontakt 4.x in NI Komplete-7. Kontakt sounds good w/ it´s own library stuff, but everything AKAI and EMU I loaded and converted for Kontakt sounds mediocre in Kontakt and compared to the hardware. You might convert EMU EII/ Emax/EmaxII/ EIII & EoS format into WAV or SF2 Soundfont banks which is native EMU too,- then play in STS samplers.Į.M.X.P does all the conversions incl. STS-3000 / 4000 is enough,- you only need STS-5000 for realtime time-stretching IIRC. In future you´ll also use BCModular polyphonic sample OSC and w/ SF2, so it´s worth converting old libraries when there´s enough time available. Yeah it really seems that kontakt is great for its own pre made sample banks/library of sounds.īut for actual sampling and making your own sample banks etc sts wins hands down. Well that's how I'm using the two from now on. Kontakt to me is like using a proteus 2000. Use search and find more AKAI, kurzweil and Emu.Sts is an actual real sampler and sounds fantastic.Īnabella wrote:Bye bye sts, I have 64 bit win, and vst samplers are good enough. No need to cry. Try these formats-They are extracted the same way-AKAI/Roland/Emu/K2k/Kurzweil Extreme Sample Converter sometimes is essensial too. OS9 and Mac OSX)I saw in the open menue of wavosaur also the Akai S1000 option. You must absolutely use a program that allows you to read/export the akai format to a standard format (Wav) i/e CDXtract (Osmosis (or Chicken System Translator (Akai CDs can be accessed and played using VSampler, Kontakt Player or other samplers. CDXTRACT translate akai roland emu soundfonts gigasampler exs24 halion. The EXS24 is compatible with the EXS 24, AKAI S1000 and S3000. Samples of the following drum machines are also included, mapped to standard general MIDI percussion notes:ĪKAI format CDRoms are not directly readable under Wxx. (a) Akai will import into Kontakt with no problems, while with Giga you'll need to use CDXtract or Chickensys to get all the dimensions (b) However (or, more accurately, 'Reason being'), Giga samples are much more complex and probably more realistic due to all the layering Akai is a more bare-bones format. CDXtract converts all your sampler CDs (Akai, Roland, EMU, Kurzweil) and files (Giga. It features samples of the following synthesizers: This allows the sampler to emulate a handful of sounds of each of the featured synthesizers with reasonable accuracy. It contains samples of single notes that have, where appropriate, been looped to allow the musician to sustain notes indefinitely. XX-Large Analogue Dreams is a sample CD released by Best Service, available in Akai S1000, Audio CD, Roland and SampleCell Mac formats.
